We at NewCars.org do not and will not send spam emails to email addresses entered into our website from one of our services. We will only use customer email addresses to contact and fulfill the services requested. We hold to a very strict no spam policy, since we are very much against spam ourselves.
The NewCars.org Price Quote form requires you to provide certain contact information. This includes your name, email address, mailing address, and phone number.
We automatically track certain information about you based on your behavior on our site. This information is compiled and analyzed on an aggregated basis, and includes your IP address, browser type, and the duration and frequency of your visits. We use this information to do internal research on your demographics, interests, and behavior to better understand and serve you.
Our site uses cookies as a mechanism to remember information about a visitor from one page to another. "Cookies" are small files placed on your hard drive that assist us in providing our services. We use personally identifiable information about you to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, to statistically analyze website usage, to improve our content, service, and product offerings and to customize our website's content, layout, and services. We believe these uses allow us to improve our website and better tailor it to meet your needs.
In specific situations, NewCars.org may need to use your contact and personally identifiable information we maintain in a file specific to you to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems and enforce our User Agreement. At times, we may look across multiple users to identify problems or resolve disputes, and on rare occasions to prevent fraudulent activity, we may evaluate your information to look for the use of multiple email addresses or aliases.
Purchase Request Information is used to transmit to third parties requests for products or services and to contact consumers regarding vehicle purchases. Similarly, Finance Information is used to transmit to third parties requests for vehicle financing. Typically, in either case the information is transmitted to dealers, manufacturers, lenders or fulfillment entities, as applicable, who may be in a position to respond to your request. As part of the request process, we may verify the information you provide, or obtain omitted address or other contact information, from third parties.
Occasionally, in the case of Purchase Request Information or Finance Information, when NewCars.org does not have a dealership or lender available to assist you, we may forward your request information to a dealer or lender through another automotive referral service. Your submission of the request authorizes us to do this. Any Purchase Request Information or Finance Information forwarded in this way becomes subject to the security and privacy policies that are posted on the websites of those referral services.
Similarly, Purchase Request or Finance Information transmitted to a dealer, manufacturer, lender or fulfillment entity becomes the property of that dealer, manufacturer, lender or fulfillment entity, in addition to NewCars.org. The information is used to process your purchase request or financing application and to provide you with information about goods and services. Any request to opt out of future dealer, lender, manufacturer or other third-party communications must be made directly to that third party.
NewCars.org has developed several business partner relationships to enhance the efficiency and security of our services. If you chose to utilize the services of our business partners, it is your responsibility to arrange and pay for their services. However, because we do not control the privacy practices of our business partners, you should evaluate their practices before deciding to use their services.
NewCars.org cooperates with law enforcement inquiries, as well as other third parties to enforce laws, such as intellectual property rights, fraud and other rights, to help protect you and the NewCars.org community. Therefore, in response to a verified request by law enforcement or other government officials relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity, we can (and you authorize us to) disclose your name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, fraud complaints, and site usage history without a subpoena. Without limiting the above, in an effort to respect your privacy and our ability to keep the community free from bad actors, we will not otherwise disclose your personal information to law enforcement or other government officials without a subpoena, court order or substantially similar legal procedure, except when we believe in good faith that the disclosure of information is necessary to: prevent imminent physical harm or financial loss, or report suspected illegal activity.
Due to the existing regulatory environment, we cannot ensure that all of your private communications and other personally identifiable information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Privacy Statement. There are instances where it may become necessary for NewCars.org to disclose your personally identifiable information to the government or third parties, or third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications. We can (and you authorize us to) disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate, in connection with an investigation of possible fraud, intellectual property infringements, or other activity that is illegal or may expose us to liability. Therefore, although we use industry standard practices to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personally identifiable information or private communications will remain private.
NewCars.org servers store your personally identifiable. Because of the type of information we possess and how it is used, we understand that trust and security are essential characteristics that we must embody and exemplify in order to give you confidence to conduct electronic transactions on NewCars.org. We will retain in our files information you have requested to remove in some circumstances, such as to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, assist with any investigations, troubleshoot problems, comply with legal requirements as is permitted by law, and enforce our User Agreement. Further, such prior information is never completely removed from our database due to technical constraints and the fact that we back up our systems. Therefore, you should not expect that all of your personally identifiable information would be completely removed from our databases in response to your requests. However, such personal information will be deactivated from public and member viewing and will only be available to select NewCars.org personal.
Except as otherwise expressly discussed in this Privacy Statement, this document only addresses the use and disclosure of information we collect from you. To the extent that you disclose your information to other parties, whether they consumers, dealers, dealerships, or partners on our system or other sites throughout the Internet, different rules may apply to their use or disclosure of the personal information you disclose to them. To the extent that we use third party advisers, they adhere to their own privacy customs and policies. Since NewCars.org does not control the privacy policies of third parties, you are subject to the privacy practices and policies of that third party. We encourage you to ask questions before you disclose your personal information to others.
