Upon introduction, the ES 2WD is equipped with a standard 2.4-liter, I4, 168-horsepower engine. A variable-Speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The XLS 4WD is equipped with a standard 3.0-liter, V6, 220-horsepower engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. A 6-Speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.
